Jeweler Advertisements

Postby Mr. Bieser » Wed 17. May 2023, 16:18

Since Gruen kept close ties with their dealers, jeweler advertising can be a rich source of Gruen information.
This section is for Gruen jeweler advertising.

From the famous Gruen dealer Brock & Company, a very rare advertisement featuring a boys wristwatch! October 1922.

Black dial, too? Late to this one, but what a rarity!

I’m sick, I know, but I do have to chuckle a bit: imagine how excited Junior will be to open the case and play in the radium dust…

I actually wonder what a brand new, freshly painted factory radium dial would look like, never seen one. Prob not that much dust but I get your point. It's ok, intrusive thoughts are usually the funniest.
I imagine little hands cupping the watch and tiny eyes peeking through to see the magical blue green glow.
Junior will be ok, it's Mother who uses "Radior" beauty cream and Father who drinks the tonic "Radithor" I'm worried about.
Look up Eben Byers if you want to be truly horrified.
