I'm following why it's named Victoria but I'm still wondering about Carole and The Carlyle, so were those the names of characters played by these actors too? Kinda confused about that. Wonder what movies and the play on the first one.

Great question. Before posting, I had assumed the names would be a character each had recently played or was set to play. That doesn’t seem to be the case. Was it a limp in promotion? Just stock models—already named—just related to the actors after the fact? :|

The picture of ARleen Whelan they used is from the film Gateway. But in this film she was starring as "Catherine"...

The funny thing is that in 1938 Fred MacMurray and Carole Lombard were the dream team in "Swing High, Swing Low".
May be Gruen wanted these two but Carole Lombard denied?
