1963. This "FOR CANADIAN NURSES ONLY" contest shows a neat nurses model from 1963, with a couple of Scripto pens and a thermometer in their own box. "A complete professional set".

That’s an attractive ad! Draws you in. Funny, I didn’t even notice that he’s wearing it on his right hand the first time I glanced at it.

I think so too!

Seen this model come up a couple times, always wondered what it dates to, 1968.

I've never seen that model, and now I want to see it. Know any more about it?

Don't know much about. Here are the three jeweler advertisements I have, all from Christmas season 1968. Funnily it seem to have went up in price.

The last appears to be a different (and better) drawing, showing it with other hands. It is described as autowinding, I don't think that there have been many selfwinding chronometer movements around in 1968.

I wish! 17J Autowind? Huh. Not what I was expecting, interesting if accurate.
No, at this point I'm learning from you!
As I eluded to, both times I've seen it (4 to 5 years ago) there were no photos of the movement or inside caseback, so I had difficulty estimating a date and actually thought it was likely from 70's. Frankly I only had a general interest in Gruen from 60's & 70's then. No saved pics of course.
That's why it wasn't until the ad find that I could put a date on it, 68. Both times it looked exactly how it was in my first ad, unmistakable 1874 on dial, sellers both stated 18k and with those exact hands and dial, not like the later dial/hands one you are showing. That's all I have. If I see one again I'll bring it to your attention.
